Fall Weekends – Weddings, Family, and Fun at the Farm

It’s taken a while to figure out a good routine with the baby… umm, toddler? How is my little baby already 14 months old?! But I’m finally here and ready to dive into all the fall fun we’ve been having around here lately.

Last weekend, my sister was home from college for fall break/our cousin’s wedding. We had a lot of great family time while she was visiting. I took a bunch of photos of Henry while he was running around my dad’s yard and I’m in love with how they turned out!

Brady’s mom came over for about 7 hours to watch Henry while we went to the wedding. It was only our 2nd sans baby date since he was born… We’re trying to be better about dating again haha.

The wedding was beautiful. It was so sweet to see my cousin so happy – and she looked amazing too! The cake was literally the best cake I think I’ve ever eaten. It was a coconut Smith Island cake which I learned is a Maryland cake made with 9+ layers! So so good. We had to leave just before the fireworks since we had a long drive home but everything was perfect!

On Friday afternoon we went to a local farm that had a bunch of activities for kids/families and spent a couple hours playing and traipsing around the corn maze. Henry’s favorite activities were dropping the bags in the corn hole and the petting zoo. I was surprised how much he was enthralled by the animals but he had a blast. He did not enjoy me trying to get a photo of him by the height marker or his own pumpkin. In fact, in the photo of him holding a pumpkin, he is in the process of pushing it off the hay bale. sigh. We’ll try again next year!

On Saturday we went to a family baby dedication and Henry had a ton of fun hanging out with everyone, especially my cousin’s dog. He got scared if she would approached him too quickly but otherwise he really liked her. He’s big on dogs at the moment and walks around saying “woof, woof, woof” whenever he sees one.

Otherwise, we haven’t been up to much around here except enjoying walks in the woods and in fun places nearby. We did a quick walk around downtown Annapolis last week and Henry sort of cooperated for a cute staircase photo. I’ll have to dig out the adorable one we have of him from a year ago when he was 7 months old.

That’s all for today but I’ll be back again this week to share a fitness health update (I’m pretty excited about this one, so stay tuned!)
