Motivation Monday

Happy Monday! I’ve decided to start a weekly post called Motivation Monday because I’m trying to work towards a healthier me and that takes a lot of dedication and motivation. I’m working on creating my motivation wall in my office with motivational phrases, pictures, and different goals I’m working towards. This weekly post is going to focus on a few of the things I’m using to help keep me motivated on my weight loss/healthy me journey.

I’ll share my motivations after a quick weekend recap— because one of my biggest motivations right now is the weather.

I’m pretty sure last year I wrote a post about how there’s always one day where the color of the sky changes, the smell of the earth changes, and from that day forward, no matter the weather, winter is officially over. Wednesday, February 15, 2017 was officially that day. Well I think this is the earliest it’s ever happened, but I am used to Michigan winters so that could be why. It must have been a good prediction because we’re supposed to have beautiful weather here in Maryland over the next 2 weeks.

Friday was fairly chilly and I had to wear my winter coat, gloves and hat for our walk around Centennial but I’m just so in love with these views and I can’t wait til we start to get some greenery in the woods and trees around the lake.

Sunday had a rough start as Brady and I went to the funeral for our friend who passed away last month. The last funeral I attended at my church was my mom’s so that made things all the more difficult.

It was a beautiful day though and we decided to soak up the uncharacteristic 70 degree weather by tuning up our bikes and taking the first ride of the year around the BWI trail loop. We weren’t the only ones with this idea though because every family, biker, runner, roller blader, etc was doing the same thing. I have never seen that many people crowded into observation area playground and parking lot. It really was the most perfect weather for a ride though.

After our ride, I spent the evening with my baby bro (He’s almost 14 *tears*). We grabbed a quick dinner at the mall, picked up a couple games at Game Stop and then watched the Little Rascals. I guess it’s been longer than I thought since the last time I watched that movie but it’s still hilarious and there are so many innuendos I obviously didn’t pick up as a kid.

Motivation Monday

A few of my motivations right now are getting healthy so that when we’re ready to start a family, I’m giving my baby the best start at a healthy life, because a healthy baby starts with a healthy mom.

I’d love to be in great shape by the time we go to Florida in May because the last 2 times we’ve gone to Disney, I spent a good portion of our park days in a wheelchair due to limping from my disc herniation and significant nerve pain issues from walking.

If I could reach a goal weight (not my final, but one of the stepping stones) by a point during the summer, I’d love to buy a gorgeous bathing suit from Albion Fit. I’m obsessed with their Insta feed and their gorgeous swimsuits.

Finally, some of my favorite inspiring quotes for this week from Pinterest. I’m going to print out a couple to add to my inspo wall.

What did you do this weekend? Did you have amazing spring weather?
What do you do to help keep you motivated and focused on your goals?
Do you have a “goal gift” you’re working towards? What is it?
