Friday Faves #2

I’m going to start off my second edition of “Friday Faves” with a question. My husband has a short amount of time to eat lunch and likes to use that time to do paperwork so he doesn’t have as much to bring home; However, he has decided it’s too much work to heat food up or use a utensil to eat with so pretty much all he’ll eat for lunch is a PBJ or nuts, chips, snacks, etc. Not so healthy and PBJs can get dull after a while. What’s quick to make, or easy to meal prep, that fits his picky lunch needs? It’ll quickly become a fave if I can get some new options.

Without further ado, here are my Friday Faves:

The Fitness Marshall I have to start out with this video because if you haven’t seen it yet, you need to! I’ve watched this a number of times because it’s so hilarious and entertaining. I’d definitely try it out.

I’m sort of obsessed with planning especially when it comes to Disney World. We went for our honeymoon in 2014 and it was an amazing trip and I’m not sure anything will ever fully compare to how special that vacation was for us. Part of what made it awesome was that we were prepared. We were there in the middle of summer so it was hot and crowded. I was also in a wheelchair for most of our touring but that’s a different story. The point is that it was busy but we never really waited more than 10-15 minutes for a ride because of all the prepping we’d (read: I’d) done. The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World was the key. The book in conjunction with their online customize-able touring plans made all the difference between a hectic stressful trip and an awesome one.

We’re planning a trip for later this year possibly in company with day at Universal! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ This book is pretty comprehensive and I would recommend anyone going to WDW to take a peek. I rented mine from the library so it was free to read.

I love renting from the library and lately one of my favorite things has been renting National Geographic DVDs. So far we’ve been watching nature/national park ones but I’ve got a Da Vinci one that I’m excited to watch as well.

I love game nights. I love playing games. Ever since I was a kid I’ve enjoyed playing games and over the last few years I’ve been really working on expanding my collection. Two of my favorite games are a couple of the most popular (new) board games from the last few years. Settler’s of Catan and Ticket to Ride  are strategy games and have complicated rules but once you understand them, it’s easy to play and so. much. fun. The last few weekend have filled our home with a lot of laughter and memories while playing these games with friends.

The Horse and His Boy is my favorite book from the Narnia series by C. S. Lewis. I read it this week in between classes while I was subbing and I remembered just how much I love this story. I wish they’d made this into a movie when they were doing them all a few years ago.

Recipes:

I’ve found a few recipes that I’m really excited to try over this next week. I’ve already tried the golden milk latte and I think with a little tweaking to my taste preferences, this is going to be a favorite. Be warned that you will probably have a really yellow tongue and yellow teeth after drinking.

Multigrain Bread, by Our Best Bites

Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli, by Cook Your Dream <– this one is inspired by our dinner we had a couple weeks ago where Brady and I had some friends over and made pasta from scratch for the first time.

Rosemary Olive Oil Crockpot Bread, by Host the Toast

I’m linking up with Fitful Focus for this post. That’s all for this week! Have a great weekend! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m going to Disney in a few weeks, and I can’t wait!! I wish I’d gotten that book!

If you don’t have the book, the two top resources you can easy access are the crowd calendar from undercover tourist to see which parks are recommended per day and then touring plans to create your own custom touring plan based on what you want to ride. Enjoy Disney!

All right, I’m gonna have to check out that WDW planning guide! I signed up for a Run Disney race and we are going in November. I wish I could get my husband as excited about it as I am, haha. I haven’t been to Universal in about 10 years, so I’m totally jealous y’all will be hitting that too!

He’ll get more excited as it gets closer or at least once you get there! The book might stress you out at first, but I guarantee you’ll enjoy your trip so much more because of it. More rides, less lines = the happiest place on earth ๐Ÿ™‚ We last went to Universal for our class trip in high school just after we started dating so we’re looking forward to that. Good luck training for your race!

I can’t honestly say that I remember ever going to Disney, I mean I have gone but it was when I was little. I need to go back.
My favorite games are Phase 10 and Cards Against Humanities.
I’m currently reading several books (I’m a book worm). The book I always have on me is called “Uninvited” by Lysa TerKeurst – great read. I’m also reading “Strong is the New Beautiful” by Lindsey Vonn – recommend this for every women. And then I have a plethora of running related books that I reference.
