All about me and getting to know YOU!

I’ve been thinking that I need a good way to introduce myself to all of you new readers so I’ve made a little quiz-like thing to share some of the interesting stuff that makes me, me! Please stay til the end and comment as well to share some things about yourself with me 🙂

Favorites:

Food: Basically anything either of my grandmothers makes is the best food ever. I really love Italian foods, Asian foods, and fruity sorbets and desserts.

Colors: Blues, pinks, and purples.

TV Shows: Friends is my all time favorite TV show and I have made quite a few converts out of friends and family to my way of thinking 🙂 I got hooked on Grey’s Anatomy at Christmastime last year and I’m eagerly anticipating the new season of Sherlock! I love some classics like Little House on the Prairie, MASH, and I Love Lucy.

Theme Park: I had to add this in here because I LOVE Disney World! I love it so much that we went there for our honeymoon which has made me love it all the more.

Movies: I’m actually not a huge movie person but I tend to like comedies, chick flicks, historical based, and occasionally an action flick. My favorite movie (that I can think of…) is the Proposal. I love that movie, it was so perfectly hilarious.

Books/Genres: My favorite series ever is the Anne of Green Gables books. I love the writing, I love the characters, and I love the stories. Otherwise I really enjoy reading historical fiction based books.

Board Games: I am a game collector! Not in the spend lots of money on fancy sets kind of way but just that I love playing games with family and friends. Some of my favorites include…

PC games: Surprise, I really love games! My favorites tend to be the ones I played as a kid and they’re the ones I keep going back to when I’m in the mood for a game, the exception is Age of Empires 2+3 that my hubby introduced to me while we were in college. My classic faves are: Theme Hospital, Caesar 3, Roller Coaster Tycoon, and NFS Most Wanted (2005).

Shopping: Target is my favorite love. I’ve spent so many hours and probably way too much money at Target over the last few years, haha

Family:

Places I’ve lived: Born in Mildura, Australia; Lived in Wilcannia and Lismore, NSW; Moved to the United states in 2001/2002 to Takoma Park, Maryland; Moved to Columbia, Maryland and it has technically been my home since then.

Siblings: 1 older brother (passed away in 2000), 2 younger siblings- Hanna (20) and Caleb (13), 2 younger step siblings around my brother’s age.

Pets: We had a dog when I was a baby but he died before I was old enough to remember him. We’ve had cats my entire life, specifically 3 that I actually remember. Currently shadow is my baby girl <3

Talents: 

I have been playing the piano since I was 6 and playing the piano as well as singing are my life. Music is my life! It pretty much flows within me and gives me inspiration. I was encouraged by so many people to do it as a major in college but I resisted because I was afraid of having my passion become just a job. I’m really happy I did photography instead because it was a huge hobby in high school and I’m lucky to have turned it into my profession! Over the last few months I’ve been teaching myself ukulele and I’ve been having a lot of fun with it.

 

Pet Peeves:

Anyone who’s ever been in the car with me knows I can’t stand stupid drivers. We have an abundance of them here in Maryland but I suppose it’s getting me to work on my patience skills…

 

Travel:

Countries I’ve been to: Australia, United States, Canada, Mexico, Dominican Republic, New Zealand (airports count right? I got a pretty view from the large airport windows!)

Places I want to visit (US): I really want to travel back out west and do a backpacking trip, hike some trails, and revisit/visit some of the gorgeous places out there like Glacier, Banff, Crater Lake, Yosemite, Great Teton… I have 12 states that I haven’t been to before so it’d be cool to cross them all off the list.

Places I want to visit (International): Switzerland, Italy, France, England, Ireland, Iceland, all of the Caribbean, Fiji, Tahiti… and more.

 

A finally a few of the events that made me a Mrs…

When we met: I heard of Brady before we’d ever met because his family was friends with my friend Lisa’s family. I met him while talking to Lisa at a church event in July 2005 when we were 13. We became friends a year later when he came to the same high school.

When we started dating: April 4, 2010 on the way back from a mission trip to the Dominican Republic.

Engaged: March 8, 2013 at sunset on the beach in St. Joseph, Michigan.

Married: July 20, 2014 at our home church in Maryland.
