Special Anniversaries

So after enjoying a few days of pretty nice weather, it feels like winter outside again. As a person who loves being warm, this makes me very sad. I’m also sad when it’s an overcast and dreary day… which led me to this thought today: Would I rather it be cold and sunny or warm and rainy?

Give me a few minutes to think about that one.

Yesterday was a special day for me and the hubby. We were celebrating 6 years of dating. 6 y.e.a.r.s. It’s kind of crazy to think about how much time has passed and all the things we’ve been through together since that time and I’m just so happy and blessed to have him in my life. I can’t imagine my life without him and I don’t want to. We celebrated our week of healthy eating by doing the opposite and stuffing ourselves at The Cheesecake Factory.

The Cheesecake Factory

An absolute must when going is to order the avocado eggrolls. If you haven’t tried them, it’s like having guacamole deep-fried in an eggroll. I’m going to pretend it was healthy because avocados are good for you…

I went against instinct and ordered the veggie burger instead of the skinnylicious version. I think the main difference is that the regular is bigger, has a slice of cheese and comes with fries or salad. I chose the salad instead of fries which was fine but a full size burger was just too much for me. I love grain-based burgers so it was delicious, just more than I should have eaten. We chose to forego cheesecake since we’d already indulged enough.

We did go for a short run in the rain before we went out to eat which was an adventure. We’re living in a hilly area so I’m trying to get used to pushing myself up the hills but I know it’s going to be good for me in the long run. (haha. unintentional pun.)

This week on the menu, I have avocado pasta again (it was just so amazing), potato pizza, burritos, walnut oat patties with veggies, lentil soup, and edamame nuggets.

So as to which miserable day I’d rather endure… warm and rainy. I guess the hope is that it would be followed by more warm days that weren’t rainy.
